Our cricket league is a true showcase of talent and passion, bringing together some of the world's most talented cricketers and creating unforgettable moments of excitement and joy for fans around the globe.
Baramati witnessed the first of its kind T20 cricket tournament, the KPL, in the year 2008 at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Stadium, Baramati. KPL, the brainchild of Shri. Prashant (Nana) Satav, was conceptualised to provide the youth in rural areas with a platform to nurture and showcase their talent, which would help them progress in their prospective towards cricket and spread the enthusiasm of the game amongst all Baramatikars. The tournament has attracted professional cricketers from various parts of the nation, which helps create a liking for the game, further inspires the local youth, and provides them with an opportunity to take up cricket as a professional career. Since the inception of KPL, it has been organised every year.
Playing in our cricket league is an unparalleled opportunity for cricketers to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. The league offers a platform for players to play alongside and against some of the best cricketers in the world, which helps them hone their skills and gain invaluable experience. The exposure and recognition that players receive by participating in the league can also lead to lucrative contracts, endorsements, and other opportunities.
Being an ex-National Kabaddi player, I have always had a natural inclination towards sports, whether it has been the widely famous Karbhari Premier League, the Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Chashak Kabaddi Tournament, the development of Baramati’s only 10 metre indoor pistol shooting range, or creating a professional cricket coaching curriculum with natural, Astro, and indoor wicket turfs. Such training activities and competitions have helped engage the youth in sports.
